The ideal candidate for this role will be a leader with a passion for data visualization. About the Role:
- Lead by example by consistently pushing innovative solutions for a team of engineers; ensuring excellent and beautiful work that brings client visions to life.
- Maintain a pulse on cutting-edge data visualization and engineering trends.
- Take ownership of technical and development solutions to ensure delivery of superior products and solutions from technical discovery to production.
- Help manage a wide range of overlapping projects, including setting budgets, schedules and milestones to meet client timelines and deliverables.
- Recruit and retain a strong, diverse, entrepreneurial, and mission-driven team.
- Work with Graphicacy’s leadership -team (Creative Director, Director of Operations and Head of Strategy) to build and maintain working relationships with existing clients and strive to expand the universe of Graphicacy’s business and client base.
About You:
- Passion for, and experience and interest in data visualization, information graphics and familiarity with a range of full-stack technologies. Graphicacy manages a range of projects built on Angular, Vue, and React.
- 5-7 years of relevant data visualization experience, including but not limited to experience with visualizations and web-based interactives, geospatial, and/or visual story-telling.
- Ability to weigh the pros and cons of technical solutions based on resource and time constraints to help clients understand what solutions are possible.
- Thorough understanding of the Software Development Lifecycle and experience in Agile, DevOps, or iterative SDLCs.
- Experience managing and growing fast moving teams of full stack developers.
- Experience working with AWS/Azure/Google Cloud.
- Experience communicating with designers and handling designer assets.
- Experience using AWS Lambda, Amazon API Gateway, and other services to implement serverless and microservice architecture.

- Experience in developing scripts and scripting languages.
- A proven track record of innovating with an entrepreneurial business acumen.

This position is for an engineer who has the ability to be as effective writing code as they are in talking to clients and collaborating with designers, project managers, and other engineers. They will possess a combination of programming skills (HTML, CSS, JavaScript, etc.) and aesthetic sensibility. - Craft innovative and performant engineering solutions:
- Work with Graphicacy’s clients to build beautiful and informative interactive and static data visualizations, online applications and information graphics.
- Play a key role in helping to turn client ideas into executable solutions considering their needs, design opportunities and limitations, and technical options.
- Collaborate with Graphicacy’s internal team of developers and designers to create feasible solutions to client visions and constraints.
- Be an empathic technology guide:
- Help clients understand what’s possible and what’s best given their resources, technical skills and capacity, and long-term maintenance needs.
- Translate user and technical requirements into interactively designed interfaces for applications and /products.
- Facilitate and provide technical documentation or summary guides outlining various approaches to engineering solutions.
- Help make Graphicacy better:
- Provide ongoing input on Graphicacy’s technology toolkit and approaches, helping us to build better things and to build things better.
- Efficiently troubleshoot and triage issues toward resolution on projects and software.
- Support existing software with quick troubleshooting and issue resolution.
About the You:

- You have 5-7 year’s experience as a software or data visualization engineer.
- Advanced knowledge or experience with modern SPA (Single Page Application) JS frameworks such as React, Angular, and/or Vue.
- Experience with D3, canvas, or other visualization libraries and tools.
- Passion for, and experience and interest in data visualization information graphics.
- Familiarity with a range of full-stack development technologies such as Python, NodeJS, and AWS/Google Cloud/Azure.
- Experience building map-based visualizations using Mapbox, Leaflet, OpenLayers, or comparable geospatial packages or applications.
- Ability to lead scoping and development conversations for technical and non-technical participants alike.
- Fluency in approaches to a wide variety of interactive products (data explorers, data dashboards, scrollytelling microsites, etc.), and the ability to rapidly learn and adapt to new ones.

This role is built for a strategic relationship-builder with 5+ years of agency sales or account management experience who can independently identify opportunities, close new business, and deepen partnerships with the clients and organizations we serve.

About the Role:
You’ll report to the Graphicacy’s Chief Strategy Officer and Managing Director and lead Graphicacy’s business development efforts end-to-end, from prospecting and pipeline strategy to proposal development and close. This isn’t a support role. You’ll own a revenue target, manage a book of business, and work directly with leadership to shape how we grow.
Business Development & Sales
- Own and drive the full sales cycle: prospecting, outreach, discovery, proposal, negotiation, and close.
- Develop and execute targeted outreach strategies to win new clients across mission-aligned sectors.
- Build and maintain a robust pipeline, with consistent visibility into deal stages, forecast, and revenue potential.
- Lead re-engagement efforts with past clients and identify expansion opportunities within existing accounts.
- Collaborate with leadership to set revenue goals and refine go-to-market strategy.
Account Management & Client Partnerships
- In partnership with the Graphicacy leadership, anticipate client needs and proactively surface new engagement opportunities.Ensure a seamless handoff between sales and project delivery, staying in close coordination with Graphicacy’s director of project management and agency operations.
Sales Operations & Strategy
- Maintain CRM hygiene and pipeline accuracy to support reliable forecasting.
- Develop and iterate on proposals, scopes of work, and sales collateral.
- Contribute to pricing strategy and deal structuring in partnership with leadership.
- Report weekly on pipeline health, key metrics, and strategic priorities.
About You:
- 5+ years in sales, business development, or account management at a creative agency, digital studio, or strategic communications firm.
- Demonstrated track record of hitting or exceeding revenue targets.
- Strong instincts for qualifying opportunities and moving deals forward without hand-holding.
- Skilled at navigating complex organizations and building relationships across levels.

Accounts & Business Development
- Collaborate with leadership to identify, track, and pursue new business opportunities,
- Execute and iterate on outbound outreach efforts, including drafting emails, coordinating meetings, and preparing follow-ups.
- Support re-engagement campaigns targeting past clients and dormant leads
- Assist in developing proposals, scopes of work, and sales materials tailored to client needs.
- Maintain and update CRM systems to track leads, opportunities, and client interactions.
